WeGen's Installation Projects with the Archdiocese of Palo

Updated: Nov 27, 2020

The Archdiocese of Palo has gone solar! After being hit by one of the deadliest typhoons in history, the Archdiocese of Palo has taken a strong stand to address climate change. The video showing the installation process was shot in 2018, and the Archdiocese's partnership with WeGen showcase the province’s resiliency and potential to become a model for Distributed Energy Resources.

WeGen installed solar PV systems at the Archdiocesan Chancery and Pastoral Center (3.36 kWp); at the Archbishop’s Palace (5.6 kWp); and in Patmos (3.4 kWp).

The pilot installations will prevent a total of 279 metric tons of CO2 emissions over the next 25 years.

This is equivalent to 97 tons of waste recycled instead of landfilled; 138 tons of coal-burning avoided, and 600,000 barrels of oil consumption avoided.

These projects were executed by local community members who underwent the WeGen Lights Training Program.

This program aims to empower marginalized sectors of the diocese by equipping them with skills in solar panel installation.

WeGen is committed to realizing its vision of transforming the Samar-Leyte region into a leading proponent for sustainability through renewable energy!
